“How To” for Sole and Small Firm Practitioners
evening on April 25 in Markham. Speakers will present on real estate law,
taxation and accounting strategies, litigation best practices, and avoiding
malpractice claims. More details available here.

Book Building 101 on April 27, cohosted with
Ascend Canada, at the Bennett Jones offices in Toronto. There will be speed
mentoring and networking. We’re targeting associates in private practice as
mentees and 8+ year calls in-house or in private practice as mentors. More

1st Annual Diversity Conference and 5th Annual Diversity Soiree (RODA) - November 26, 2015
On November 26, 2015, join
the Roundtable of Diversity Associations (RODA) for a conference with
CPD accredited panels given by leading practitioners, LAWPRO representatives,
and members of the bench on topics relevant to all members of the bar. The
conference offers a unique opportunity to earn CPD credits and network with
colleagues and notable community members of Toronto’s diverse legal community.
The conference will be followed by RODA’s Diversity Soiree cocktail, with
opening remarks by the Honourable Justice Murray Sinclair. This event will
provide an opportunity for members of Toronto’s diverse legal community to come
together to exchange ideas, contacts and to socialize in an informal and
collegial atmosphere.

Strength In Unity / Men Speaking Out Against Stigma - Mental Health Promotion in Asian Communities
Major research project, focused on Asian males and mental health, being conducted in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Research will require 800 Asian adult males. Stem Cell Registry Drive for Madam Justice Pawagi of the Ontario Courts of Justice (Family – Brampton)
One of our own is in need of help.
Madam Justice Pawagi is asking that kind hearted South
Asians aged 17 to 35 consider having their cheeks swabbed to test for a
potential match regarding stem cells.
The main testing date is July 13, 2014, but you can go get tested anytime.
Madam Justice Pawagi has been an Ontario Courts of
Justice Family Court Judge since 2009.
