The legal event of the year, The Lawyer Show is Nightwood Theatre’s annual fundraiser. This important event raises vital funds that go towards enhancing Nightwood’s productions and training programs. Each season Nightwood auditions and casts over 30 local lawyers and legal professionals and works with them for over 2 months rehearsing lines, dissecting text, choreographing dance sequences, blocking moves – all with the goal of having fun, entertaining our audiences and raising money!

The Bard’s original pastoral play centers on lovers, Orlando and Rosalind and the exiled court of the usurped Duke as they fend for themselves in the Forest of Arden. Shakespeare’s classic comedy is a series of mistaken identities, romantic pursuits, and outlandish and thrilling hi-jinks. Under Nightwood’s direction, As You Like It is set in a contemporary high tech world where a corporate takeover spews these urban misfits into a pastoral setting that forces their awakening. Envisioned in a stylized design, this highly physical interpretation is sure to excite.
